What to Expect
When you worship with us, you will find these actions based on what we learn from the Bible:
- A Warm Greeting: You will be met by friendly, encouraging members.
- Beautiful Singing: The whole congregation sings acapella (without instruments) just as they did in New Testament times. Our songs are to praise God and to build up one another (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). You are welcome to join in or just listen.
- Praying: There will be several different prayers during the assembly, including prayers for specific needs and requests (1 Timothy 1:1-2).
- The Lord’s Supper: Each Sunday we remember the sacrifice of Jesus by sharing the Lord’s Supper, also called communion (Acts 20:7). For Chrisans, this meal involves eating bread and drinking grape juice, which symbolizes Jesus’ body and blood, and helps us each week to remember the commitment we have made to Him.
- Contribution: Each week the members of this congregation take up a collection to help support the needs of others and the various ministries we have (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). As our guest, you should not feel obligated to participate.
- Preaching: Each week we have a message from God’s Word that helps us learn more of His will for our lives. These lessons are designed to encourage, challenge, and spur us on toward a deeper faith in Christ (2 Timothy 4:2).
